What if we've just been asking the wrong questions?

Most jewellery is designed to look beautiful. But why can't it feel beautiful too?

That question became Nudie.

People ask about the name. It's not about wearing less, it's about needing less. Less irritation. Less compromise. Less pressure to cover up or be someone you're not.

It's a cheeky name, built on thoughtful design, honest storytelling and the belief that comfort, confidence and conscience should never be a compromise.

I'm Sophie, and this is Nudie.

We believe how something feels matters just as much as how it looks.

Living with dermatitis taught me that confidence isn't always about what people can see. Sometimes it's simply about feeling comfortable in your own skin.

That belief became the foundation of Nudie. Every decision we make starts with one simple question: how can this feel better? Because beautiful things should never ask you to compromise.

We believe curiosity is more valuable than convention.

I don't have a background in jewellery design, and I think that's one of Nudie's greatest strengths. I wasn't taught how things had always been done, so I wasn't afraid to ask why. Why do necklaces always spin? Why are clasps so fiddly? Why do we accept irritation as normal? Nudie isn't about reinventing jewellery. It's about rethinking it.

We believe confidence should never be edited.

You'll never find retouched skin or AI-generated women in our campaigns. Every photograph, every video and every person you see is real. If I'm lucky enough to bring a daughter into this world one day, I want her to grow up seeing women celebrated for who they are, not compared to impossible standards. I hope every piece of content we share leaves people feeling a little better about themselves, never the opposite.

We believe good ideas don't need a city postcode.

Nudie was born in the Herefordshire countryside and proudly remains rooted there today. Growing up surrounded by rolling hills, country shows and a strong sense of community taught me to value honesty, hard work and genuine human connection. They're values that have shaped Nudie from day one and continue to guide us as we grow.

We believe thoughtful design changes everything.

Being designed with skin in mind goes far beyond the materials we choose. It's the tiny details that most people never notice, but always appreciate. Thoughtful engineering, independently certified hypoallergenic materials, waterproof durability and functional features that make everyday wear just that little bit easier. Because the best design often goes unnoticed, it simply works.

We believe businesses should leave things better than they found them.

Nudie only exists because of my own experience with skin, so giving back has always been part of the plan. That's why we donate £1 from every piece sold to the British Skin Foundation, helping to fund research, education and support for the millions of people living with skin conditions. Creating beautiful jewellery is important. Using it to make a difference matters even more.

What materials are your jewellery made from?

At Nudie Jewellery, we believe in celebrating natural beauty with high-quality, sustainable materials.

Our gold pieces are crafted from brass and plated with 100% recycled gold vermeil*, ensuring a luxurious yet conscious finish. Silver uses 925 sterling silver with a Rhodium Plating for lasting shine.

We use irregular freshwater pearls, carefully chosen to embrace their natural uniqueness, along with cubic zirconia gemstones to add a touch of sparkle.

*Please note; Gold vermeil will be introduced from Wave 2 of The Maiden Collection. Wave 1 pieces are gold-plated, which simply refers to the thickness of the gold plating and is reflected in the price

Are Nudies hypoallergenic?

Yes — all Nudie Jewellery pieces have been independently tested and certified as hypoallergenic by AnchorCert Pro, one of the world’s leading authorities in jewellery safety and skin compatibility. Ensuring every component is hypoallergenic not just the coating which can cause irritation once the coating wears off.

While brass and silver are commonly used in jewellery, certification through AnchorCert Pro means our pieces meet strict global standards for skin safety, making them suitable for even sensitive skin.

We’re also committed to ongoing transparency and will continue regular testing with AnchorCert Pro to maintain this accreditation. If you have a history of metal sensitivities, we still recommend consulting a dermatologist — but you can try Nudie Jewellery risk free with our no irritation or your money back policy

Will my jewellery tarnish or fade over time?

A lifetime guarantee is reserved for solid gold jewellery only. Any gold-plated jewellery, including vermeil, will not last forever, but we’ve designed every piece to be as durable and long-lasting as possible. Our jewellery is waterproof, meaning it can handle daily wear, but tarnishing mostly depends on friction and exposure to chemicals. Like anything special, with the right care, your Nudies will stay beautiful for years to come.

Our silver pieces are solid and will therefore last a lifetime.

How to Care for Your Nudie Jewellery:

✨ Store it safely – Keep your pieces in their soft pouch or a jewellery box when not in use.
💦 Avoid harsh chemicals – Perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products can affect the plating over time.
🛀 Wear it, but mind the friction – While waterproof, excessive rubbing (e.g. stacking pieces or wearing during intense workouts) can wear down the plating faster.
🧼 Clean gently – Use a soft cloth to wipe away dirt and oils to maintain shine.

With a little love, your Nudies will keep their glow for years!

Are Nudies waterproof?

Absolutely! Every piece of Nudie Jewellery has been carefully tested for sweat and waterproofing, so you can confidently wear your jewellery through everyday moments. That said, to keep your Nudies looking flawless for years to come, we recommend limiting exposure to friction—including when getting wet. While your jewellery can handle a splash or two, protecting it from excessive wear will help preserve its gorgeous shine and radiant finish, just like the first time you wear it!
