What It’s Really Like Pitching a Jewellery Brand at Heathrow Airport

There are moments in business that make you pause for a second and think… how did I get here?

Being invited to pitch Nudie Jewellery at Heathrow Airport was one of them.

What started as a very personal idea has grown into something I now get to share in rooms like this. And that’s not something I take lightly.

The Invitation

Heathrow’s Lift Off programme was created to support and showcase emerging brands, and this year their retail team opened the opportunity up to businesses like Nudie.

After an initial briefing, I was asked to prepare a full pitch and present Nudie to a panel across multiple departments. Fifteen minutes to explain the brand, the product, and where it’s going.

It’s one thing building something quietly behind the scenes. It’s another standing up and presenting it properly.

The Build Up

The morning started like most big days do, a mix of excitement and nerves.

I ran through my pitch out loud (more than once), made small last-minute tweaks, and tried to slow everything down just enough to feel in control of it.

There’s something quite exposing about saying your business out loud like that. Especially when it started from something so personal.

The Pitch

At its core, Nudie is simple.

Jewellery designed for real life. Pieces that feel good on your skin, that you don’t have to think twice about wearing, and that quietly support your confidence rather than compete with it.

But behind that simplicity is a lot of thought.

From hypoallergenic materials and waterproof wear, to details like our Anchor Clasp and Nudie Kiss — every decision is made with wearability in mind.

Because for so many people, jewellery isn’t effortless. It irritates, it catches, it needs adjusting. And that’s what we’re here to change.

Why It Mattered

Standing in front of that panel, it wasn’t just about presenting a product.

It was about representing a different way of thinking about jewellery. One that doesn’t start with trends, but with how something actually feels to wear.

Nudie was built on real skin, real experiences, and the idea that you shouldn’t have to compromise comfort for something beautiful.

To be able to share that in a space like Heathrow felt like a big step forward.

What’s Next

Whatever the outcome, the experience itself has been incredibly valuable.

It’s a reminder that the small details matter. That building something with intention resonates. And that there is space for brands that do things differently.

We’re continuing to grow Nudie through retail, events and partnerships, and this is just one part of that journey.

A Note From Me

If you’re someone who has ever struggled to wear jewellery comfortably, you’re not alone.

And if you’re working in retail or buying and are interested in discovering new brands, I’d love to connect.
