There are moments in business that make you stop, reread an email, and quietly say, I beg your pardon?
This was one of them.

Nudie Jewellery has been shortlisted as a finalist for Best Business Start-Up at the UK Small Business Awards, representing Herefordshire on a national stage.
In less than 12 months, what began as a small, skin-first idea has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined. To see Nudie recognised alongside some of the most exciting small businesses in the country feels both surreal and deeply grounding.
From a simple idea to national recognition
Nudie was never about chasing trends or building something quickly for the sake of it. It started with a very personal frustration: wanting jewellery that worked with real skin, real bodies, and real life.
Growing up with sensitive skin meant makeup wasn’t always an option, so jewellery became my way to sparkle. That experience shaped everything Nudie stands for today. Pieces that are easy to wear, gentle on skin, and thoughtfully designed so they don’t get in the way of living.
To be shortlisted for a national award so early on feels like a quiet reassurance that doing things differently, and doing them with care, still matters.
A moment worth celebrating (together)
This recognition isn’t just about me or the brand. It belongs to everyone who’s supported Nudie along the way. Those who’ve shopped small, shared posts, worn their pieces daily, popped by at events, or simply sent a kind message at the right moment.
Building Nudie has never felt like a solo journey, even though I’m a one-woman brand. There’s been a real sense of community from day one, and that’s something I’ll always protect.
Looking ahead
The UK Small Business Awards ceremony will take place in December, where finalists from across the country will come together as the National Top 10 are announced live. Whether we take home the title or not, being shortlisted already feels like a milestone worth pausing for.
It’s a reminder to take stock, celebrate progress, and keep trusting the process. Nudie is still in its early days, and there’s so much more to come. More thoughtful design, more conversations around skin and confidence, and more jewellery that’s made to be lived in.
For now, I’m allowing myself a moment to feel proud. Quietly proud. And very grateful.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
This one really does belong to all of us.
