Some opportunities have a funny way of coming back around.
This week, I'm incredibly proud to share that Nudie Jewellery has been shortlisted for the #SBS x Spring Fair 2027 Competition, giving us the chance to exhibit in the prestigious #SBS Village at Spring Fair 2027.
For most businesses, this would simply be another competition.
For Nudie, it feels like coming full circle.
It All Started with One Competition
Back in May 2025, I came across a competition to win a stand at Spring Fair.
It sounded perfect.
Then I noticed one small detail.
You had to be an SBS winner to apply.
At the time, I'd never even heard of Theo Paphitis' Small Business Sunday community.
So I did what every small business owner does when faced with a closed door.
I looked for another way in.
The very next Sunday, I entered #SBS.
A few days later, before Nudie had even officially launched, Theo Paphitis announced we were one of his weekly winners.
Looking back, that single application changed everything. The irony isn't lost on me that the competition which introduced me to the SBS community is now one we've been shortlisted for two years in a row.
A Year That Changed the Business
Since becoming part of the SBS community, Nudie has grown beyond anything I imagined.
We've exhibited at Spring Fair, welcomed wonderful independent stockists, travelled the country attending shows, won national and global awards, launched new collections and introduced thousands more women to jewellery designed with sensitive skin in mind.
Every opportunity has led to another.
Every conversation has opened another door.
Which is exactly why this latest shortlist means so much.
Why the SBS Village Matters
The #SBS Village has become one of the highlights of Spring Fair, giving small businesses the opportunity to showcase their brands to thousands of retail buyers from across the UK and beyond.
For a growing wholesale brand like Nudie, it's about far more than exhibiting.
It's about meeting retailers who share our values, building lasting relationships and introducing more people to thoughtful jewellery that's designed to feel as good as it looks.
It's exactly the sort of opportunity that can shape the next chapter of a business.
Winners Announced Soon
This year, Spring Fair has expanded the #SBS Village from 12 to 18 stands, making this the biggest competition yet.
The winners will be announced on 10th July, and while I'd love to be one of them, reaching the shortlist already feels like an incredible achievement.
No matter what happens next, I'm grateful to Theo Paphitis, the SBS team and Spring Fair for continuing to champion small businesses and create opportunities that genuinely change lives.
Sometimes it's worth looking backwards.
Because the opportunity you're hoping for today might only exist because you took a chance on yourself yesterday.
Last year, we were also shortlisted for the competition. Although we didn't secure one of the exhibition spaces, Spring Fair continued to play a huge role in Nudie's journey. We went on to exhibit at the show, meet fantastic retailers, grow our wholesale network and build relationships that continue to shape the business today.
